Nathalie is Afro-Latina visual artist dedicated to shaping a visual language that transcends words. Through the lens of her camera, she has dedicated herself to showcasing the true beauty of her community, countering the misconceptions perpetuated by mainstream media. Her passion for storytelling extends beyond conventional boundaries, often capturing life by the water or amidst the grass, accentuating nature's beauty and the brilliance of melanin-rich skin.
Artist Bio & Timeline
Notably, she held the position of Visual Production Manager for four years at The Conqueror Movement, a dynamic production agency committed to providing Black millennials with a platform to showcase their art and connect with fellow artists in South Carolina. Within The Conqueror Movement, Nathalie has been a driving force behind various initiatives, hosting networking events and mixers that foster a sense of community and collaboration. Her contributions extend to creating the documentary "Nurturing Your Light," shedding light on mental health within the black community and offering diverse perspectives on self-care. As well as the web series Coast2Coast, a platform utilized to interview artists within the Carolinas.
Simultaneously, working as the Creative Director for Da Gullah Geechee Influence where her photography navigates between the intersection of art and cultural preservation aiming to capture the essence of Gullah Geechee's heritage. Her work serves as a testament to the power of visual storytelling by producing documentaries that focus on the means of, history, education, and both mental and food health within the Gullah Geechee, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora. With culture and heritage holding great importance in her life, storytelling serves as a means to ensure that both the history and legacy of her community are told in the most authentic way possible.
